Good for the Neighborhood with the Independent Health Foundation

Good for the Neighborhood is a free, community-based wellness program that brings health-related training and tools to areas where access to health care is limited. Individuals and families are encouraged to manage and improve their health by attending quarterly health fair-style events and workshops.

What’s included: Free health screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, height, and weight), produce/grocery giveaways, kids’ activities, raffles, visiting organizations offering additional resources.

Thursday, July 25 | 5-7 p.m.

Thanks to the Independent Health Foundation, free backpacks and school supplies will be distributed while supplies last. Children must be present to receive a backpack.

We’ll also be joined by:

  • Buffalo Museum of Science – building and testing electrical circuits

  • Buffalo & Erie County Public Library (Crane Branch) – make your own button

  • The Fruit Lady – smoothie samples and free fruits to take home

  • Westside Baseball, Softball, and T-Ball League – outdoor kids’ activities (weather-permitting)

Thursday, October 3 | 5-6:30 p.m.

Check back in the fall for event details.
