Dare to Repair Cafe – Tuesday, February 18 | 5-7 p.m.

Provided by: The Tool Library

The Tool Library is bringing their FREE repair workshop to WSCS! Volunteer fixers will be available to try to repair broken items alongside you. Current repair categories include small appliances, bicycles, lamps, electronics, sewing machines, computers, clothing, and textiles. Please no gas-powered items or TVs.

Note: Repairs are not guaranteed and all participants will be required to sign a waiver. Not all fixers can make every event, so registering ahead of time helps ensure we’ve got someone who can fix your item.

Replacement parts are limited, so bring ‘em if you got ‘em!

Good for the Neighborhood with the Independent Health Foundation

Good for the Neighborhood is a free, community-based wellness program that brings health-related training and tools to areas where access to health care is limited. Individuals and families are encouraged to manage and improve their health by attending quarterly health fair-style events and workshops.

What’s included: Free health screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, height, and weight), produce/grocery giveaways, kids’ activities, raffles, visiting organizations offering additional resources.

Our three 2024 Good for the Neighborhood events were a great success with hundreds of guests in attendance. We are working with our partners at the Independent Health Foundation to plan for next year. Please check back in late winter for our 2025 dates.
