Know Your Rights Training with New York Immigration Coalition

Register / Registrarse

Join us for an important training that will cover the basic rights that community members have with different types of immigration and law enforcement agents (ICE, Border Patrol, and local police), and how to navigate different spaces and situations.

Please register in advance for this training.

 

Date: Friday, March 13, 2026

Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Location: West Side Community Services (161 Vermont St, Buffalo, NY 14213)

Parking: Small lot on Fargo Ave side of building is first-come, first-served. Otherwise, there is ample street parking in our neighborhood. Be sure to keep an eye on the alternate side rules.

 

This training is for adults only. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide childcare.

Defensive Driving Class with Safe Driver Academy

NYS DMV’s only approved humor-based defensive driving class returns to West Side Community Services!

Date: Thursday, May 14, 2026

Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Cost: $35 per person, payable day of class to instructor (cash or check made out to Safe Driver Academy)

Good for the Neighborhood with the Independent Health Foundation

Good for the Neighborhood is a free, community-based wellness program that brings health-related training and tools to areas where access to health care is limited. Individuals and families are encouraged to manage and improve their health by attending quarterly health fair-style events and workshops.

What’s included: Produce/grocery giveaways, kids’ activities, raffles and prizes, health and wellness resources, plus visiting organizations offering additional resources.
