Thank you for your interest in donating to our food pantry!

Monetary donations are typically best because:

  • We buy bulk (better prices than off the shelf).

  • We buy from local farmers.

  • We can buy exactly what we need at any given time (money is the most flexible).

  • Donations can be made online here. (Join as a monthly donor and help us plan ahead!)

  • Checks can be made out to West Side Community Services (put “Provisions 139” on the memo line) and mailed to 161 Vermont St, Buffalo, NY 14213.

Our current top food needs:

🌾 Grains (pasta/spaghetti, rice, cereal, oats)

🥫Canned veggies (tomatoes, corn, peas, green beans, carrots)

🍎 Canned fruits (apples/applesauce, peaches, pears, pineapple)

🫘 Canned beans (any; these tend to be preferred over dried)

🐟 Canned tuna/chicken

🍼 Baby formula

IMPORTANT NOTES:

‼️ Food must be unexpired, unopened, and in good condition. (No bulging/dented cans.)

‼️ We unfortunately cannot accept fridge/frozen foods from individuals. (Sorry! We just can’t be sure about food safety in those situations.)

⭐ Large cold-storage donations from grocery stores/warehouses can be accepted. Reach out to us by emailing info@wscsbuffalo.org.

🍝 We also cannot accept prepared foods, sorry! (See below for Community Fridges – where you can take prepared foods.)
